Chapter 20! Here it is. In case you don't read it until the end, it is the last chapter of this adventure. Next year - the whole year - I will be on another adventure with my family. We are cycling through Africa. It should be cool so long as nobody breaks any bones before we leave (this morning's training ride suggests that this might not be as simple as it sounds). So the next time I post here it will be with details about that (there will be more cartoons) and some other things. If there's anything that this chapter doesn't cover that you want to know, just pop me a message (tegan.phillips@gmail.com) and I promise to give more or less honest answer, or at least a creative one. Ok, this is for you:
This was basically me.
And here are some actual photographs. If you like that sort of thing.

Congratulations on a brilliant blog. I am so pleased you won Charlie, if only to entertain your readers! I hope he didn't cause you too much hassle. Hopefully his new owners are going to blog their adventures?
ReplyDeleteGood luck for next year. Does it mean you have converted your parents into adventurers? If so, that is amazing.
Very best wishes for you and your family for 2015
Thank you so much Liz! I am glad that at least something good could come from my various brief encounters with disaster.
DeleteYes I believe Duncan and Gwyn will be doing some form of blog, but I'm not sure of the details yet - I am meeting with Duncs tomorrow and he will hopefully give me some clues, I will be following them for sure!
And I wish I could say that I have converted my parents into adventurers but the truth is that they converted me - I only saw the advert for Charlie by seeing Tom's post on my dad's Twitter feed over his shoulder one day (he is a big fan of Tom's and the whole adventuring scene). So I can blame this whole adventuring business on them!
Thanks again for all the comments and support along the way :)
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year
Very sorry to see the blog end, but delighted you made it in one piece (and Charlie lives to fight another day).
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the African Adventure :-)
Thanks Simon, judging from our Africa training the next adventure will be just as eventful, currently in process of trying to convince parents to let me take a pet ;) One month count-down today. Will keep checking out your blog for sure :) Keep well!
DeleteOh what a fabulous final chapter, bravo Tegan! Can't wait for your African adventure, I LOVE Africa!! :-)
ReplyDeleteAah cheers Kelly!! Definitely will be reading about your fantastic African adventures for some tips :D
DeleteI really enjoyed reading your ***adventure*** blog over the previous months. And it had pictures too! Thanks Tegan.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
Deletei think i'm in love with you and your adventure :) good luck on your next adventure, Tegan!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful adventure you had! And I love the blog format! I'd steal it, except stealing is wrong, but otherwise I would! And I like exclamation points, apparently! Good luck on you next adventure - surlys are great touring bikes, though Charley was a trouper, too. Don't get eaten by any large animals. Especially hippos. Stay away from hippos! Until next time... :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Tom - feel free to use the blog format, it's much more fun than just typing (although I must warn you, styluses go missing all the time). I am seven months into the next adventure, cycling through Africa with my family! We have a new blog with lots more cartoons so you're welcome to check it out, here is the latest chapter: http://unclippedadventure.com/wp/chapter-21-five-hard-facts-of-life/
ReplyDeleteThere is lot of articles on the web about this. But I like yours more, although i found one that’s more descriptive.
